Wirriten & Produced by Tricky and The-Dream.

the Song was originally for Jon McLaughlin and it was #9 track of album "Ok! Now"
its original name was Smack Into You. and was on the promo release, also he perforemed the song on tour before album came out.
(But it's not the only song he performed on Tour, but didn't maket the album. there're many unreleased, demo songs that he performed during tour or events)

but later it got scrapped on album, and writer/producer Dream gave it to Beyonce.

Some may say Beyonce did stole it, But john said on interview
""Smack Into You" "didn't really fit in" with the other tracks" can't believe it?
Actually there was two track list, it's not just about Samck into You.
he changes the trakcs order, so you can see he really did by himself.
"As you sit with a record you start changing your mind about certain things,"

So  he changed the orders the track first, later he took 'smack into you' off.

* Jon's have Two version as Album Version(5:43) and  Radio Edit(4:13)

Beyonce's Version is 4:31.

Hey Jon -

So I read the Billboard article and saw that "Smack Into You" is no longer going to be on the new record - how come? I also noticed you took it off your myspace page...any chance it'll come out some day?

Thanks!
Lauren :)

Hey Lauren -

Yeah so the song is off the record, yes, but the song's up for another artist to record and will be out again, promise!

But I am sorry for putting a song out there then taking it away!

Thanks Lauren - take care! -j-

"OK Now" was originally to have included a would-be pop hit called "Smack Into You," which was written and produced by the team behind Rihanna's "Umbrella." Yet after McLaughlin and Fields completed the rest of the album, the singer decided "Smack Into You" "didn't really fit in" with the other tracks.

"As you sit with a record you start changing your mind about certain things," McLaughlin says. "That wasn't the only song that was going to be on the album that we took off."

Track List

--------------------------------------------------------------------
Jon McLaughlin Performed "Smack Into You" at the Chameleon Club. Lancaster, PA 7/12/08.

-------------------------------------------------------------
Beyonce's Changes in the song
1. Different Drum sound.
2. Different Vocal Arrangement & Production
3. New Lyrics & Title : Smack into you -> Smash into You
on Chrous it's 'I Wanna run' Twice. jon version was 'I wanna run' and 'I'm willing to run' beyonce keep the 'I wanna run' and maximize the meaning of last 'I'm willing to run run run run' part.
4. Production Wise, you can hear little differences on bangrounds
(for exmple end of the song. Beyonce took off banground sound(intro sound). so other sound pop up (like piano's) and become more clean.  )

she gets the credit for this changes. simple as that.
