Beyonce remembers Chelsea with condolence flowers
BEYONCE Knowles has reached out to the grieving family of 15 year-old Chelsea James after her death last week.
The bouquet Beyonce sent to Chelsea's mother Donna.
On Thursday last week Chelsea’s mother, Donna James, received a vase filled with 90 white roses, and a card bearing the name ‘‘Beyonce’’.
‘‘Donna, love and prayers to you and your family. Chelsea was a beautiful girl and I am so happy I was able to meet her. She touched my heart and I will never forget her,’’ the card read.
Chelsea James died last week at the age of 15, after a courageous battle with cancer that lasted more than a decade.

Her story touched millions around the world after she was brought on stage and serenaded by Knowles at a concert in 2009 – a clip that was subsequently uploaded onto YouTube, shared hundreds of thousands of times, and re-played on the Ellen Degeneres Show.

The pair met once more after that, and now, after her death, Knowles has reached out to her mother, sending condolences from the US.
Understood to have been organised through a New York City florist, the gift proved to Ms James that Chelsea and Knowles shared a real and ‘‘amazing’’ bond.
‘‘There was a connection there for sure, there was something about the both of them,’’ she said.

‘‘Even the second time they met, Beyonce yelled out her name and jumped up in the air, she was almost more excited than Chelsea was.
‘‘Chelsea passed away with a smile on her face, and I know that smile is even bigger now.’’
